Grilled Shrimp with Roasted Garlic Cilantro Sauce

Ok, what’s not to love, cilantro and shrimp, two of my favorites. I saw this recipe on Instagram and had to try it.


  • 1 tablespoon Dried Chili Flakes
  • 1 cup Fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 small bulb fresh garlic top trimmed off
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Dry White Wine- I liked it with and without the wine
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 Lime Juiced
  • 1 1/2 pounds 21- 25 Count Shrimp

Sauce Ingredients


    1. Peel and devein shrimp. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper
    2. Cut-off top of garlic bulb, but leave garlic intact. Drizzle with olive oil and roast in 400 degree F oven for about 10 - 15 minutes until tender and fragrant
    3. Remove garlic from oven, cool slightly. Peel and chop as finely as possible
    4. Combine roasted garlic, with remaining sauce ingredients: cilantro, pepper flakes, white wine if using. Note: I added a little Kosher salt to the sauce
    5. Lightly oil cast iron grill or griddle and heat to medium high
    6. Dress shrimp with olive oil and grill 3 - 4 minutes on each side
    7. Remove from grill then pour the roasted garlic sauce over shrimp and serve
